The Mudbugs clinched the #1 seed, in their 4-2 win over the Thundercats.The Thundercats clinched #2, though had an 8-game winning streak halted. 3rd through 6th are still very much in play, with BAMF having the most to gain with 2 games in hand. But it's pretty safe to guess that Fraggle-Rock and Mass Elimination will face one of the top 2 teams in the quarter-finals. The playoffs begin on Oct. 2, 2010, and the 2010-B championship team is invited to represent all of New York State in the National Ball Hockey League tournament in December.

PLANNING FOR WINTER 2010-2011

We're now considering BOTH an indoor 4-on-4 indoor division on Saturdays and an outdoor Moffo Rink game on Sundays for the winter. More details HERE.
ABOUT

MOFO HOCKEY LEAGUE is an adult league playing ball hockey (street hockey - in sneakers, not on wheels) at Moffo Rink in Tanahey Park in lower Manhattan, NYC, NY near the South Street Seaport. The league started in June 2008. The rink is 84 feet wide and 149 feet long. We play by USA Hockey rules (as apply to a non-ice surface) with some modifications, officiated by professional USA Hockey registered referees. There is NO CHECKING allowed. We seek to provide a highly skilled game without aggression. Anyone involved in FIGHTING is permanently expelled from the league. Both men and women are welcome to join.

The summer season will begin on June 26, 2010 and run for 10 weeks, followed by the playoffs. Games will be on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 7pm/6:30pm and Saturdays at 1:30pm and 3pm. (Teams play just one game per week.)

We're also considering a winter 4-on-4 season at an indoor gym for 2010-2011, in addition to a regular outdoor winter season. More info on that HERE.
